Of 8 au 12 mai, the town of Tautavel, will have the pleasure of hosting the outdoor festival organized by the departmental committee of the FFCAM and the other clubs of the Pyrénées Orientales. The fact that this great celebration is organized here testifies to the diversity of practice sites and the quality of our landscapes and our environment..

This meeting called T-RECS 2024 (Tautavel Hiking Climbing Canyon Caving) should bring together nearly 400 people passionate about outdoor sports. The amateurs, coming from all over France, will have the perfect opportunity to satisfy their passion and discover the cultural and heritage riches of our territory.

The inauguration will take place on Wednesday 8 May at 6:30 p.m. at the Jo Maso gymnasium which will be followed by a sharing of a friendly drink. You are invited to come join us and discover the base camp which will welcome many sporting and institutional partners. During these five days, numerous activities and demonstrations will be offered. You should know that trails are often indelible marks of our passage. (ten is enough), because on many trails the vegetation cannot grow back, at least not in the near future. Try as much as possible to stay on the main trails to limit the impact on existing trails. If you engage in a semblance of trace, you are surely taking a path traced by wild boars. You will thus participate without knowing it in their interview. Also avoid walking next to the trail or cutting corners, because new paths will be created like scars which encourage erosion and on which vegetation will not grow back.

The cliffs of Vingrau were abandoned for a time. We observed that some access trails have closed, that routes are no longer passable because they are overgrown with vegetation or have cracks filled with earth. Become an actor in your practice. Just need pruning shears and a little of your time. The climbers of Sixties systematically carried pruning shears and a saw. When approaching, you can help by maintaining access paths, by rolling some stones that have landed on the path, by rebuilding a fallen cairn, by clearing the base of the route… During your climbs, you can help by clearing a path of vegetation, by getting rid of a stone... No need to do everything, just a small gesture. Small drops of water make big rivers. Our cliff will only be better off. Thank you.
